Welcome to 2006 Atlantic Rowing Race Archive
On 30th November 2005, 26 crews set off from La Gomera in the Canary Islands with the dream of joining a unique group of people who have successfully rowed across an ocean.  A drama packed four months later and Sedna Solo becomes the twentieth and last boat to finish, after six Pairs crews were forced to withdraw during the course of the Race.

At 1748 hours GMT on Monday 13 March 2006, Roz Savage in Boat No. 15 – Sedna Solo triumphantly crossed the finish line of longitude in the Atlantic Rowing Race 2005, due South of Cape Shirley in Antigua.

After 2,550 nautical miles and 103 days of complete solitude in a tiny 23ft carbon fibre boat Roz Savage, the only single handed female ocean rower to compete in the Atlantic Rowing Race 2005, brings this most spectacular event to a close.

At the age of 38, 5ft 4inches tall and weighing only 8 stone, Roz is an unlikely rower but having overcome the lows of ocean rowing including a boat capsize, faulty equipment, broken oars, too many low pressure systems to count and all of this on her own, Roz has proved that she is equally as capable as the 6ft 6inch tall professional rowers that also took part in the event.
