Woodvale Works Ltd are pleased to announce their entry into the Virgin GB Row 2011.

We are looking for 5 motivated individuals who wish to participate in the Virgin GB Row 2011 which starts on 1st June 2011.  This will be an all-out race to win the event and set a new record for the fastest row around the Island, set in 2005 by a crew of four men led by William de Laszlo (26 days 21 hours and 14 minutes). 

The boat Woodvale is launching is Oystershack - a famous Woodvale built 6-man boat which is the fastest ever boat into Antigua (37 days).

 

Richard Branson, said of the challenge: “This is one of the most extreme and exciting challenges I have ever come across, rowing around the UK non-stop and un-aided any way and in a competitive race. Definitely one of the hardest rowing races in the world. How exciting!”

 

For a cost of just £6,000 participants will get the chance to have their name in the record books, as well as receiving all equipment/food required for the race and Woodvale's technical expertise and advice.  Costs not included are travel, training (approx £1,000) and accommodation.
