Latest NewsNew Record Attempt Ocean Rowing Boat UnveiledThe naming ceremony of new record attempt ocean rowing boat to be held on Friday 24th August 2007 at the Oyster Shack Restaurant in Salcombe, Devon.
The revolutionary ocean rowing boat has been sponsored by local restaurateur Chris Yandell who runs the Oyster Shack in Bigbury and Salcombe and Jack Spratts in Salcombe. The official ceremony will start at 11:30 with doors being opened to the public from 2pm – 6pm if you would like to have a closer look. Chris Yandell commented; ‘The Oyster Shack challenge encapsulates the company’s philosophy of not just coping but excelling. This is one reason why such an endeavour strikes a cord with our organisation. The Oyster Shack is very proud to be associated with such an epic challenge. The opportunity to break world records doesn’t came about everyday and this particular challenge requires a huge amount of teamwork similar to the successful running of a restaurant operation. The Oyster Shack wish the ‘off shore shackers’ the best of luck ‘ Simon Chalk commented; ‘We have been developing this boat design for some years now and it will be very exciting to see how it performs on the water in its Carbon Fibre and Kevlar form.
